Mom and Dad don't seem to notice. In fact, their hands and faces are absent from the frame. Ach, what a lonely tragedy. When the ice cream is on the ground, what can be done anyway? As a child I was prone to feel sorry for myself and sulk and pout. Eventually this got turned into teen angst, I suppose. So I, along with this little girl, ask who can comfort me in my sorrow? Who can restore the ice cream cone that is ruined - and what is the meaning of all this loss?

My friend Brooke Crockett gave me the idea for this painting.
